Are there places to enjoy the outdoors on the property?

Yes, we are nestled in a meadow setting with artistic arbors and acres of lovely trees, flowers and beautiful garden areas to stroll or sit on our benches and enjoy the birds and their song.  Their are 2 separate patio areas. Our newest is a covered area with tons of charm. Strings of Edison lights, attractive and comfortable seating  The original and smaller patio is an adorable spot under the Magnolia and Forest Pansy trees surrounded with beauty and serenity. And more outdoor seating scattered through out the gardens.  This quiet, serene atmosphere allows you to unwind and re-create in an enchanting getaway.

Do you have a hot tub?

Yes, we have a great covered outdoor hot tub that is shared by the guests.

Is there a bridge to the island?

Nope, only way on and off is by a beautiful ferry ride. The ticket you purchase is round trip – it costs nothing to leave the island  (20 minute trip from West Seattle’s Fauntleroy Ferry Dock,  15 minute trip from Tacoma’s Point Defiance Ferry Dock, and 10 minute trip from the Peninsula via Southworth Ferry.

Are there restaurants and stores on the island?

Yes, we have a number of very good restaurants.  At least a dozen cozy and wonderful places with great food most within a block or two of the center of town and a couple others North end and in Burton. Plus 2 large grocery stores and lots of great shops, including hardware stores, books shops, coffee Cafes with great coffee and pastries, frequently evening entertainment on weekends at a few places and 1st Friday art walk.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please see policies (link on the INFORMATION TAB). If you have work or health concerns it may be best to book close enough to the date or perhaps consider vacation insurance.

Can I bring my car?

Absolutely, the automobile ferries take everything from walk-on passengers to 18 wheelers.

Do I need ferry reservations?

Nope, first come – first serve. The ferries on the North end take hundreds of cars at a time, the South end rarely overloads.

Will there be on site parking for my car?

Yes, we have sufficient parking for 1 car per room and on street parking for extra vehicles.

Do we need a car?

We are located 4 1/2 miles from the island’s North end ferry dock and a little more than twice as far from the South end dock at Tahlequah (coming from Pt. Defiance in Tacoma)

We are (1) one mile exactly from the very center of Vashon Village, it is an easy walk for those accustomed to getting places on foot or by bicycle. Keep in mind we are on a country lane with no sidewalks or street lights, so during  times of inclement weather months when it gets dark early; it would be best to arrange shuttle or Uber rides in advance.  (See next answer down about public transportation).

We would recommend coming by car, we do, however, fairly often have guests arrive on foot/bus, by bicycle and/or shuttle. (Some of our ride share and shuttle services, will take you door to door to and from the airport and I think downtown Seattle as well).

We are located 3/4 mile from the nearest bus stop on Vashon’s main road (which is generously called Vashon Hwy).
